Green Action Week: Awareness on Traditional and Healthy Foods

FIAN Sri Lanka organized an awareness program for consumers and housewives in conjunction with the Green Action Week program on 19/08/2025 at the Sudarshanaramaya Temple, Malapalla, Kottawa. The objective of this program was to introduce the importance of traditional, local, quality and healthy food and beverages. Here, an awareness and practical food preparation program was conducted explaining the health problems that have arisen with the prevalence of these foods and the importance of turning to these foods again to overcome this situation. Housewives representing the Malapalla Siriliya Farmers’ Women’s Organization, Samurdhi Development Officer of the Malapalla area and Agricultural Research Officer were involved in this.
